Turning Poo Into Power

Green Bay, WI - Over the past two years, Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District (GBMSD) staff have been evaluating plans to replace its current solids handling equipment used in the treatment process. GBMSD needs to replace its current system because equipment has reached the end of its useful life, it must comply with stricter environmental air permit standards by May 2016, and it has triggered a regulatory requirement to increase capacity because it operates at more than 90% capacity daily. Solar Powered Meter Station

Green Bay, WI - The Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District (GBMSD) is pleased to announce that it has a solar powered meter station located at 3900 Scottwood Drive in Green Bay. GBMSD installed two solar panel tracking units capable of producing about 10,000 kWh annually. A $29,150 grant from Focus on Energy and Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) was used to help pay for the solar panels. Read More...

Green Bay, WI - GBMSD is proud to announce that its Green Bay and De Pere Facilities have each received a 2010 National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) Peak Performance Award.

Given out annually to recognize wastewater utilities for their outstanding permit compliance records, GBMSD's Green Bay Facility has received the NACWA Platinum 8 Award for eight straight years for 100% permit compliance. Read More...  


Bay Guardian Arrives

Green Bay, WI - The Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District (GBMSD) took delivery of its new workboat known as Bay Guardian on June 2, 2011. The workboat replaces an older workboat that was purchased at the start of GBMSD's ambient water quality monitoring program in 1986. Read More...
