Lean Steering Team
A six-member Lean Steering Team (LST) guides and leads the
implementation of Lean principles to continually improve
organizational effectiveness. The LST, pictured below left to
right, consists of Terri Lealou, Mike Peroutka, Maridey Diaz,
Paul Kaster, Lisa Evenson, and Bob Nitka.
GBMSD has begun the jouney of
using Lean principles for the purpose of providing what the
customer requires without waste. The Lean process is learning
how to stabilize, standardize, and simplify GBMSD processes;
produce products/ services using only the amount of time required;
provide products/ services without wait-time, queue-time,
or other delays; and provide only what is needed when it is
needed.
The business reasons behind Lean
implementation are for staff to become more efficient, productive,
and reduce job complications and/ or frustrations, which can
ultimately translate into cost savings for GBMSD
